An expansion of the Saath Program

In cases when a parent is unable to safely care for their children, Peel Children’s Aid Society may decide to turn to kin providers who can care for children while their primary caregivers address their challenges. The program tries to connect with kin providers networks to discuss challenges around kinship, child protection and parenting and to share appropriate tools and resources with families

The program offers support and resources to these families in order to keep the children with their extended kin providers until they are reunited with their parents. In this manner, children stay connected to their origins, which includes culture, language, and family values
