Prenatal counselling to pregnant mothers and partners regarding complications of pregnancy and impact to the fetus, carried out in conjunction with the perinatal and obstetrical teams to enable informed decision making regarding medical management of maternal and fetal care in pregnancy * prenatal consults may be requested by perinatal, obstetrical and primary care obstetrical physicians * service is provided to enhance multidisciplinary care for individuals needing complex medical care in pregnancy

Conditions treated:

• maternal autoimmune disorders: Graves' disease, immune thrombocytopenic purpura, SLE/lupus/anti-rho/anti-SSA antibodies, myasthenia gravis
• maternal medications: narcotics, antidepressants, antipsychotics, other illicit drug use
• maternal infections: Hepatitis B/C, HIV, syphilis identified in current pregnancy, varicella in current pregnancy Maternal isoimmunization to blood group antigens
• fetal congenital anomalies: cleft lip/palate, CNS- Ventriculomegaly, club feet
• genetic abnormalities: chromosomal abnormalities (Down syndrome, Turner syndrome), inherited disorders (hemophilia, sickle cell disease)
• severe IUGR

Services offered: This clinic provides care for maternal autoimmune disorders, maternal medications (i.e. narcotics, antidepressants, antipsychotics and other illicit drugs use), maternal infections, maternal isoimmunization to blood group antigens, fetal congenital anomalies, genetic abnormalities and severe intrauterine growth restrictions (IUGR)
