For patients who have had their hip surgery at Osler, these patients will be referred to the Post-op Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic
Patients who have had their surgery at another hospital, can also be referred to the clinic
Patients who have had their surgery at another hospital, can also be referred to the clinic

Description of Services:
Program offers effective, patient-centred care after a total hip replacement
Hip Replacement Rehabilitation - patients work one-on-one with a physiotherapist
Patients who had their surgery at Osler, will be given their first appointment before they leave the hospital, and will be scheduled for approximately two to three weeks after the surgery* For patients who have had their surgery at another hospital, and live in Brampton or Etobicoke, an appointment will be booked after a referral is received from the other hospital
In this program:
Two to four visits over a three-month period will be scheduled, to improve range of motion, strength, and function, in order to help the patient to become independent so they can manage their daily activities

- a physiotherapist will assess your range of motion, strength and functional ability
- patients home exercise program will be reviewed and adjusted, as appropriate
- patient will be educated on pain management techniques and strategies to improve their function
