Application
For patients who have had their knee surgery at Osler, these will be referred to the Post-op Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic
Patients who have had their surgery at another hospital, can also be referred to the clinic
Patients who have had their surgery at another hospital, can also be referred to the clinic

Description of Services:
Program offers effective, patient-centred care after a total knee replacement
Knee Replacement Rehabilitation
Patients are given their first appointment within seven to ten days of their surgery * For patients who had their surgery at Osler, will be given their first appointment before they leave the hospital * For patients who have had their surgery at another hospital, they can be referred to this program at Osler
Patients will be assessed by a physiotherapist, then booked into a “knee class.” These classes:
Exercises are monitored to progress appropriately. After the program, you be able to independently continue a home exercise program

Knee Replacement Rehabilitation
Patients are given their first appointment within seven to ten days of their surgery * For patients who had their surgery at Osler, will be given their first appointment before they leave the hospital * For patients who have had their surgery at another hospital, they can be referred to this program at Osler
Patients will be assessed by a physiotherapist, then booked into a “knee class.” These classes:
- are in a group setting
- are scheduled twice a week for four weeks (eight classes in total)
- are led by a physiotherapist and a physiotherapy assistant
- will teach patient an exercise routine to improve their range of motion, strength and function
Exercises are monitored to progress appropriately. After the program, you be able to independently continue a home exercise program
